About Us

Rugby World Cup 2011

Geneva Motor Lodge ,located handy to all of Rotorua's local Attractions, Restaurants & City Centre is a great place to base yourself while attending the games of the Rugby World Cup. Three of which are being played in Rotorua, or perhaps stop off for a few days after the games.

Rotorua is centrally located to many of the games Approx 3 hours from Auckland, 1 hour from Hamilton, 3 hours to Napier.

Although Rotorua has many of its own attractions and activites. You may wish to take a few day trips exploring the surrounding area. Only 1 hour to the beautiful Beaches of Mt Maunganui (check out the Kiwi Fruit Capital Te Puke on the way) 1 hour to Whakatane where you can take a tour to visit "White Island" a live Volcano. Or perhaps spend a day Deep Sea Fishing at either Whakatane or Mt Maunganui. 2 hours to the Ski Fields of Mt Ruapehu (Whakapapa). 3 hrs to Napier for a little bit of Wine Tasting.

  • The Auckland games include the semi finals and the final as well as the play off for 3rd & 4th and pool games for England, Fiji & Scotland
  • The games at North Harbour stadium have 2 games featuring South Africa and another involving France
  • The 3 games at Hamilton have one involving the All Blacks and two others with Wales as the drawcard
  • The 3 games in Rotorua feature qualifiers from Africa and Oceania plus Ireland also has a game here
