This geothermal wonderland, situated in the heart of the North Island, is one of New Zealand’s most popular tourist destinations. With so many different sights and activities on offer, Rotorua is exciting all year round.
Due to the uniqueness and the healing powers of the thermal waters and hot mud pools that are so characteristic for the city, Rotorua has attracted visitors from all over the world since the 1800s. It has always been promoted as a unique Spa destination.
Rotorua being centrally located to many of the North Island Tourist Attractions it is a great place to base yourself while you explore other areas and then after a day's touring come back and relax in either your own in room Spa or perhaps indulge yourself with maybe a massage and or soak in the mineral waters of the Polynesian Spa. Tauranga & Mt Maunganui: Aprrox 1hr drive to one of NZ's most beautiful beaches your drive takes you through Te Puke NZ's Kiw Fruit Capital
Taupo: A drive to Taupo will take approx 1hr, where you can check out the Huka Falls , maybe take the Huka Jet Boat ride to the base of the falls. Bungy Jump. Lunch at the famous Prawn Farm or at one of the many cafes in town overlooking the lake to the snow capped Mountains of the Central Plateau
Mount Ruapehu; Whakapapa & Turoa Skifields are only 2.5-3hrs drive from Rotorua
Waitomo Caves; Approx 2 hrs drive away are well renowned Glow Worm Caves
